Delhi, New: In relation to a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in which his pledge to remove Muslim reservation quotas in Telangana was altered to appear as though he was supporting the abolition of all reservations, investigators will be delivering a notice to the Congress unit in Telangana, sources said on Monday.
To serve notice to the people who tweeted this fake video, a Delhi Police squad will be heading to Telangana. “Notice will be served to them also since INC Telangana posted it on X (formerly Twitter),” the sources claimed.
The Telangana Congress faction was allegedly spreading a doctored film of Amit Shah, according to Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP IT cell, who claimed the video was completely fake and might incite widespread violence.The situation is being looked at. The sources stated, “We are attempting to track down the source of the video, and anyone who uploaded it will be questioned and given notice to take part in the investigation.
This comes after Delhi Police on Sunday registered an FIR after two complaints were entered by police, one from the BJP and another from the Ministry of Home Affairs( MHA). Following this, the Delhi Police Special Cell Cyber Wing’s IFSO unit filed an FIR. A case has been registered under Sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, and 171G of the Indian Penal Code( IPC) and Section 66C of the Information Technology( IT) Act. According to the FIR, a dupe of which is in possession of IANS, the MHA, in its complaint, stated that it has been set up that “ some doctored videos are being circulated by druggies of Facebook and Twitter ”. “ The videotape seems to be doctored, spreading deceiving information with the intention of creating discord among communities, which is likely to affect public tranquilly and public order issues. It’s requested to kindly take necessary legal action as per the statutes of law, ” the ministry said, as per the FIR. It also stated that a report was attached to the complaint containing details of links and handles from which the doctored videos of the Home Minister were obtained. The contestation erupted after a videotape surfaced on social media purportedly showcasing Home Minister Amit Shah making statements suggesting the BJP’s intention to annul reservation vittles for slated gentries( SCs), slated lines( STs), and Other Backward Classes( OBCs).
