Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Italy to attend the G7 summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on his first foreign visit of his third term. India will focus on artificial intelligence, energy, Africa and the Mediterranean during his visit.
The prime minister will attend the G7 summit outreach session in Puglia in southern Italy on Friday and hold bilateral talks with world leaders on a wide range of issues. “The Indian Prime Minister has arrived at Brindisi airport in Italy to attend the G7 summit,” Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), said in a video message from the airport.
“Friday is a very busy day for him,” he continued. We are planning several bilateral meetings with world leaders. During his one-day visit, PM Modi will attend a summit session titled “Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Africa-Mediterranean” hosted by Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and will be accompanied by the Pope. Pope Francis will also hold bilateral meetings with PM Modi, who is planning a series of meetings with world leaders to coincide with the summit at the luxury resort of Borgo Egnazia.
