In the midst of the ongoing discussion around artificial intelligence (AI) models, Google unveiled the mobile app for its AI helper Gemini on Tuesday in India.
The Gemini app is now available in India, with support for English and nine languages: Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The software allows users to obtain help by typing, talking, or even uploading an image.
“We’re also adding these local languages to Gemini Advanced, along with other new features, and launching Gemini in Google Messages in English,” Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced on the X social media site.
According to the company, Gemini powerful users in India can now benefit from the power of Gemini 1.5 Pro, the most powerful model, in nine languages.
“In addition, we’re unlocking new features in Gemini Advanced, such as new data analysis capabilities and file uploads, as well as launching the ability to chat with Gemini in Google Messages, beginning in English,” said Amar Subramanya, Vice President, Engineering, Gemini Experiences. On iOS, Gemini access will be available directly via the Google app in the coming weeks. With a 1 million token context window, Gemini Advanced currently boasts the longest context of any publicly available consumer chatbot in the world. We’re also integrating Gemini into Google Messages to provide you another opportunity to collaborate with Gemini on your phone,” the business stated.
