A recent tell-all interview between Kamal Haasan and his daughter, Shruti Haasan, revealed some of his unmet ambitions.
For the first time, Kamal Haasan and his daughter Shruti Haasan worked together on a music video called Inimel. The father-daughter team also shared a film called Legacy of Love, in which they talked about relationships and love in general. Kamal continued the honest conversation by talking about his views on materialistic ambitions and bringing up Shah Rukh Khan.
What Kamal mentioned
When Shruti questioned Kamal about an unfulfilled dream during the conversation, he responded, “There are a lot of those, a lot.” I do not intend to enumerate them all. You think, “I want this, that, and this,” after listing them. That’s when I recalled that my father left me a little room at Eldams Road, where his former family home is located, maybe big enough to accommodate two pianos. It was hot because it was on the top floor. Three stories down was the loo. The way my father was, “You know a lot, so stay here.” Tell me when you feel like you can no longer carry on in this manner, and I’ll buy you a cow you can raise.”
He still has a lis, so seeing him made me glad.
“So, I used to lie down and think, all I want is ₹10,000 per month,” he continued. I would list all the things I would like to get done with that cash. Even the items on that list elude me. However, those desires let me fall asleep. First, I intended to buy a scooter, and then a car. Now that I have the money to purchase all of those items, I’m not sure what I want. An aeroplane? I recently saw Shah Rukh Khan in an interview. I want to buy a plane, he added.
He still has a list, so seeing him made me pleased. In my opinion, I shouldn’t have a list. I’m not aiming to live a strict life. Where does this end? Okay, so how much will I use a plane if I want one? How much time will I spend in Kodaikanal if I buy a property this size? No more than a month. I’ll rush back here after that. How come I should then purchase a bungalow there?
The following films starring Kamal are Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life and Shankar’s Indian 2. In Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, which comes out on June 27, he too makes a brief appearance. Shruti will be seen alongside Prabhas in Prashanth Neel’s Salaar Part 2: Shouryaanga Parvam and alongside Adivi Sesh in Shaneil Deo’s Dacoit.
